Reviews
"Friends have a lodge here and I stayed with them. It is lovely! It's beside Sherwood Forest. There are beautiful places to visit nearby. If you enjoy getting away to secluded and peaceful places, this would definitely suit you."
"We had a lovely week long break here in cabin 30. It was a lovely cabin - clean (although could use a little tlc) and big enough for four adults and one dog. Our one criticism is that the lock to the patio is much too complicated. We struggled to lock it a lot of the time. It's lucky one of us figured it out and became our resident locksmith. The grounds are lovely. We ended up walking our dog down the long drive in the mornings and going by car for daytime walks. It really does feel tucked away, which is nice. We had limited interactions with staff but they were all very pleasant and helpful. They'd also left a little bag of dog treats for us, which was a very nice touch (and much appreciated by the dog!) The little heater and the hot tub were great features adding to our comfort throughout the week. The amenities were also good. We were close to a range of shops (Asda, Tesco, McDonald's, Costa), pubs (recommend the Royal Oak in Edwinstowe, great food and huge portions), and the National Holocaust Centre, which was great. We're definitely coming back."
"Lodge was great. Location was great. Hot tubs don't work that well. We stayed in Lodge 20 was very nice but we have 3 kids & Lodge 21 was having parties till 4am. So not quite at all. Bit of a party site!"
"What can I say, what a fantastic, casual, luxurious getaway! Firstly, the staff are second to none! They will not stop until all your needs are met, within reason, obviously! Very friendly and approachable. The setting is so peaceful and calming, rustic chic would be doing it an injustice. Great for families, dogs, and couples. (If you're looking for a girly party getaway, I'd maybe suggest somewhere else, unless it's a bit of serenity you need) Location-wise, it's close to 2 major supermarkets, a Costa and a Chippy and a Chinese within 2 miles radius. (You will need to drive) Beds are fresh, clean and crisp. We needed space for 3 adults and a child, and were allocated a Double bed room, and a twin room. No option for sofa bed. Prices are very reasonable too, a weeks break cost us around the £800 mark in mid-July. Personally, I'd LOVE to come back again, even in winter for the hot tub and the cosy fireplace!"
"Just got back from a long weekend away, lovely setting for the lodges, lots of open space around the lodge which was great for the kids to play. The lodge itself felt a bit dated and looking at other photos might be just one that is going to be upgraded before long. Perfect though as a base and came with all the things you would need. Hot tub was great, the jets could have been slightly more powerful but that’s just personal preference. Was always hot and nice and relaxing so can’t complain. Overall was a lovely stay and would look to rebook for sure."
"We had a lovely time and really enoyed the walks in the woods with our puppy (she would recommend it!). Staff were really friendly and helpful. The hot tub was so relaxing and the quality of the lodge was very good. We especially appreciated all the luxury extras - the welcome pack, the bathrobes and slippers, the fluffy towels and the very high quality toiletries provided. We'd definitely consider booking again."
