"Stayed for October half term Friday 27th to Monday 30th. Unfortunately this was not very nice. The first caravan we were given had not been cleaned, so we were moved. 2nd had a problem but we put up with it. The site was generally in a poor state. The bins were all full and spilling out onto the floor, there was a black bag full of rubbish between 2 caravans that had been split open everywhere when we arrived on the day we arrived, it was still there on the day we left and would have thought the grounds team should have sorted it. There was also a visible rat problem, although that's no surprise due to the state of the bins. The shop and Bar area looked like they were getting rid of the last of their stock before the end of the season, which I can understand, but as October half term is still busy and they are still open, they should have stock. No cider left on tap at all, and by Saturday there was only 1 bottled cider to choose from. Also no straws available, which sounds petty, but when you are selling slushies with no straws it's a problem. We only booked 1 activity, which was cancelled without notification. We were offered another session which we couldn't do, or a refund, so children were unhappy. The pool, well.. very dirty, water was very cloudy which is not usually a good sign. Changing facilities are massively inadequate for the amount of people swimming. I have no doubt that some of this is just down to coming to the end of season, but if you are still accepting paying guests your standards should remain."

"* updated as I forgot to add the pool review Clean and tidy caravan, keys weren’t ready at 4pm but didn’t take long. We’re not using the facilities as we have teenagers so they have no interest in club house or shows. Watched one show and had to leave. No offence but wouldn’t call that a show for anyone, singing gave me headache. The pool is a joke! They have 1 inside and 1 outside. We went in just gone 2pm and after 50 minutes we were ushered out as they had activity’s at 3pm. People were very angry that the time was short. I know there was a few family’s waiting but surely with 2 pools you can hold activity’s in one pool then let everyone use the other. After that one pool session we didn’t bother go back for the rest of the week. Tesco superstore is around the corner, could literally walk there in 5 minutes. So handy with self catering. It’s so close people were walking the shopping trolleys back to the caravan site. Obviously not a good thing for Tesco and definitely makes the road outside look bad with them all lined up. Clacton has more entertainment for us, arcades and shops are plenty. Unfortunately the arcade here hasn’t got much going on. Restaurant is super expensive so best to cook or go out. Apart from the entertainment side we’re very happy here. Would be nice if there were shower mats or a mop here as the floor is super slippery. Iron and ironing board was in the cupboard which is handy. Minimal pots/pans and one frying pan. Fridge/freezer decent size in a built in closet. Beds are usual caravan size but the mattress has no support so terrible for bad backs. But overall a good break away. Never been to this one before so was good to visit. Given 4* as the pull out bed looks like it’s from a prison. Definitely not suitable for adults and definitely not for 2 people as advertised."

"No hot water or heating in caravan for first 33 hrs of holiday, reported and nothing done so had to chase about Saturday night. Caravan also stank of stale smoke. Very poor customer service by reception staff. All in all pretty disgusted by whole stay."

"The caravan hadn't been cleaned, crumbs on the side, cheese in the grater, sticky marks, dirty shower the only thing that had been done was the beds. The whole site was grubby and the staff were uninterested and were more interested in socialising with each other. Worse site I've ever been too."

"Nice pool and staff were lovely but the caravan was a joke. We had to tidy up when we arrived, the shower drain doesn't drain so floods the caravan if you even think about a wash. Not really anything to cook in and we had to re wash everything twice before we used it for the first time. Also carpet edge was exposed revealing some kinda mesh underneath that was not safe to walk on. Had a nice holiday but probably not a repeat stay."
