Mouswald Cottages are set in the well-established grounds of Mouswald Place Mansion House, the lands of Mouswald were gifted by Robert the Bruce to the Carruthers family and Mouswald Place was the family home, the 14th century ruin of which is a feature of the grounds. The park blends mature trees and landscaped gardens with stunning views across the surrounding countryside to the hills beyond. The local area provides a mix of lochs, rocky coastline and sandy beaches along with many picturesque hamlets and villages just waiting to be explored. Just 6 miles outside of Dumfries with its many restaurants and leisure facilities the park is set within the stunning Borders landscape with scenic views around every turn in an area steeped in history and beauty. It's the perfect base to explore Mouswald, Dumfries and the wider area of Dumfries-shire.
