Reviews
"Update: So we arrived to a caravan with no sticker on door to say caravan is clean after waiting in line with 50+ English families to collect keys. Staff were really friendly at reception. Caravan is a 5 year old Willoughby Rio Gold 3 bed ( they seemed to bulk buy a load of these type of caravans) which looks dated. Upon first walking to the door, tea bags and rubbish by steps. Not a good start. Windows open In caravan also gave bad vibes as why would you need to air a caravan if it's been cleaned? The smell Inside of ammonia is disgusting near the fridge\freezer. Issues with caravan so far: 1 - Mould on curtain tie and mattress to one bedroom 2 - Hair found in the shower clogging up top of drain 3 - The shower cannot drain properly and is like a swimming pool after 3 minutes of showering. 4 - Stained seating. Henry vacuum used - no wet and dry vac. No taking off covers to wash properly. 5 - Window which is an escape window dropped and a gap of 1 cm. Hard to open and close. 6 - Painted badly to hide damage such as cracks and missing architrave inside. 7 - Outside light doesn't work and about 4 days in the park had electrical issues and so lights were out making walking around dangerous. 8 - Paths are narrow and not flat with patches eroded away. My partner has spinal cord damage and sometimes her crutch would catch the bad parts and make her unsteady. Even being an able boddied walker I found walking on the paths unsteady. 9 - Loud inconsiderate English Londoners coming back at 2330 till 2400 being loud. Don't want to spoil any ones fun but it works both ways and people should be considerate of others. 10 - Caravans are too close together and you can hear the noises of dogs uncontrollably running around or like we had kids running from one end to the other of their caravan with grandparents not giving a damn about the caravan or others around them. 11 - Caravan is a 10 ft 5 year old model not like park dean advertise which is a 12 ft model less than 3 years old. Booked through Hoseasons sadly and 2nd time had bad experience. 12 - Unable to park car near caravan. 13 - When booked I put 2 adults 2 teenagers, when I arrived they said 2 adults 2 children. 14 - Main bedroom is too small and very narrow between bed and wall. 15 - Only one bathroom in a three bed caravan is stupid. I had ensuite toilet in a two bed caravan. 16 - Radiator side panel buckled by kitchen area. 17 - No vacuum to clean up. 18 - No Grill tray and limited cookware. Not even a can opener. 19 - Have to bring your own towels and tea towels. Not even a scourer or even one toilet roll. Definitely will never book this park again. Sad that it's very close to Aberystwyth but seems the English are taking over as very little Welsh language or accent heard. Mostly Londoners turning up who don't give a shit about anyone around them and feel they need you to hear them at every opportunity. Not against the English as have English family but it's always the same ones that come to Wales and ruin it for lots. Arcade is very dated and uses tickets to get kids toys. Nothing for adults really. Boathouse was a lovely venue with very nice hard working staff however toilets were disgusting. Urinals take ages to clear and floor wet. Womens toilets full of shit and toilet roll because of dirty people. Overall Borth has a lovely beach but not loads to do around. Park seems situated in a location that makes you want to use the facilities to charge silly prices."
"We’ve been a few times and it’s a good little getaway for the kids. It’s unfortunate that the staff don’t really care nor provide much in terms of customer service. On top of that the cleanliness is very very poor. The showbar floor and carpet is absolutely shockingly filthy, we had several activities booked over several days in the showbar and the same mess and rubbish was there every day. I don’t think I even saw a single cleaner or maintenance crew throughout our whole stay. Not to mention the flies! They were everywhere! When we asked the staff they simply said that if they killed them it would make the problem worse!!! Our own caravan had not been vacuumed. We swept the carpet on arrival and just look at the picture! We had just arrived! The reception staff were not helpful nor useful, or had any idea on what activities were running that day. For instance, we had pre-booked and paid for an activity, only to be told when we got to the location that it wasn’t running. After returning to the reception informing them to provide a refund, they hadn’t a clue! They said they would have to verify whether it was cancelled or not!! We’re still waiting for a refund!!! Very very poorly managed, very poorly maintained. It’s such a shame as we enjoyed our stays in the past. Location wise, that was the only positive, on the sea front with lovely walks."
"A fantastic lodge, spotless cleanliness and very roomy indeed. Was offered an upgrade from caravan to lodge for a small fee. 100% worth it. Lodge was spotless with some minor signs of wear and tear. Quick transition from check in to arrival at the lodge. A lovely sea view from the veranda. Would 100% recommend."
"Beautiful holiday location, we tend to go out of season, so it is quiet and peaceful, which is what we enjoy. The site is clean and everything is on hand. The beach is a 10 minute walk from the site entrance. There is a reception with very friendly staff and there is a clubhouse, so great for the odd tipple or two. There is also a shop with everything you may need, from a newspaper to a roll of black bags or toilet roll if you've forgotten them. There is an arcade which is good too. There is a swimming pool with a lovely slide. The site is dog friendly and some of the caravans. Dogs are not allowed in the club house. We've been coming here for many years now and have never had a bad holiday, bad weather yes, but that's what you expect out of season. I'm sure we'll be coming here for years to come and would recommend it if you want lots of walks and peace and quiet."
"The less good stuff: Wheelie bins don't get emptied enough, so any kind of recycling or proper use of them is impossible. You have no choice but to put your recycling and rubbish in the only bin with any space in. Pool has weird opening hours.. seems to close too early. And the steps to the slide were a bit rickety and the slide needs a good power wash on the top. Our caravan was pet friendly as we brought our dog, and it was mostly clean but the sofa was def very stained and a bit tired. Radiator in the main bathroom was a bit rusty. On site menu has very few veggie options. The good stuff: Beautiful views. Our caravan had a nice smart TV. Pool was warm and the kids loved the slide. Site is generally well maintained. Short walk to the beach and some nice pubs, cafes, restaurants and a decent Nisa shop. What food we did have was nice, and the on site delivery / takeaway is welcome. Nice little wooded walk on site to take the dog for a leg stretch. The on site arcade has plenty of fun penny pushers and other games."
